Waqar stopped from bowling

JOHANNESBURG, Tuesday, (AFP) - Pakistan captain Waqar Younis was ordered out of the bowling attack after sending down a vicious beamer to Australia's Andrew Symonds in the World Cup match here on Tuesday.

The incident took place in the 49th over when Waqar bowled a beamer at Symonds, who smashed an unbeaten 143 off 125 balls, and swore at the batsman.

A livid Symonds walked down the wicket to confront the bowler before umpire David Shepherd of England intervened and took Waqar off the attack.

Spinner Shahid Afridi bowled the remaining three balls of the over.
