LTTE to issue report on Delft blast by Ranil Wijayapala The LTTE is awaiting the arrival of its peace negotiators from Berlin to the Wanni to issue a comprehensive report on Friday's incident where three Sea Tigers blew themselves up in the sea off Delft, LTTE spokesman Daya Master told the Daily News yesterday. He said they were contacting Sea Tiger leader Soosai to check whether the statement issued by the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) in this regard was correct. The SLMM on Monday issued a statement describing what happened when Naval troops and SLMM monitors were inspecting the suspicious LTTE boat in the sea off Delft island, contradicting the statement issued by Dr. Anton Balasingham in Berlin. "So far we cannot say anything about the SLMM statement. Hopefully we will be able to issue a statement after the negotiators arrive in Wanni," he added. Daya Master said the LTTE negotiators are due to arrive in the Wanni tomorrow. |
