Lanka welcomes ceasefire in Nepal

The following has been conveyed to the Government of Nepal by the Government of Sri Lanka through official Diplomatic channels:

"The Government of Sri Lanka has noted with satisfaction the recent positive developments for the establishment of peace in Nepal including the announcement of a ceasefire by the Maoists.

Sri Lanka expresses its solidarity with the Government and the People of Nepal as they continue to work towards the establishment of durable peace through dialogue".
