Correction

In our main story on page one yesterday we quoted Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe as having said that peace moves saved the government Rs 5 billion. This report was incorrect. What the Prime Minister had in fact said was that because of a reduction in defense expenditure by Rs 5 billion the government was able to clear that amount of debt last year. We apologise for the incorrect impression given to our readers.
