More policemen fluent in Tamil for N-E

by Asanga Warnakulasuriya

"Policemen who completed the three month Tamil Language crash course will be provided a police station of their choice in the North Eastern Province", IGP T. E. Anandaraja said yesterday.

Accordingly the first batch of 60 policemen who followed the crash course in Tamil language will be given the opportunity to choose any police station in North Eastern Province.

The IGP speaking at the passout of the first batch of policemen said that the attempt of making policeman fluent, specially in Tamil Language will be vital for peace since the policeman deals with the day to day life of the public than any other government official. The training was carried out by the National Languages Department.
