American President Line to patronise Colombo Port

American President Line (APL) owned and operated by the Neptune Orient Lines of Singapore has entered into a Terminal Service Agreement with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority to exclusively patronise JCT for a period of two years.

American President Line (APL) is a top fine global container operator owning a container fleet of 71 vessels with an annual shipboard capacity of 227, 749 TEUs.

Accordingly all current and future services operated by American President Lines through the Port of Colombo will be handled at the SLPA Container Terminals.

Maurice Mackeating, Managing Director, American President Lines in Sri Lanka said our decision to exclusively patronise Sri Lanka Ports Authority Terminals was based on the productivity and efficiency gains achieved at JCT combined with the customer oriented outlook of Chairman and the Management Team".

On the advice of Rauff Hakeem, Minister of Ports Development, Shipping, Eastern Development and Muslim Religious Affairs, Parakrama Dissanayake, Chairman, Sri Lanka Ports Authority finalised the conclusion of the agreement.
