In order to popularise Science and Technology among people, the Ministry of Economic Reforms, Science and Technology has initiated a mobile exhibition train service. The opening of this Science and Technology exhibition train for school students will be held at the Fort railway station under the patronage of Minister for Economic Reforms, Science and Technology Milinda Moragoda. This exhibition train was designed to provide a practical knowledge of science in order to develop the scientific knowledge of schoolchildren in rural areas. The National Engineering Research and Development Center, Industrial Technology Institute, the Authur C. Clarke Institute, the Council for Information Technology, the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority, the Sri Lanka Standards Institute and Institute of Information Technology contributes to this exhibition train, a ministry media release stated. This exhibition train is sponsored by Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, National Lotteries Board, Development Lotteries Board, Sri Lanka Police, Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka Railway Department assist to implement this programme islandwide, it said. This exhibition which will begin on January 23 at the Fort railway station and will continue on Junuary 24 at the same place. Subsequently it will be held at Gampola from January 30 to February 10 at Nawalapitiya from February 18 to March 1 at Bandarawela from March 7 to March 17, at Nanuoya from March 25 to April 8, the release stated. |
