Latha Walpola, the perennially popular Queen of Sinhala Music, celebrated 55 years in the local performing arts scene with a gala concert titled Rajina Mamai (I am the Queen) at the BMICH on Saturday. The title is from her best-known song Rajina Mamai. Here Public Trustee Sarath Seneviratne handing over a cheque for Rs.1 million to Walpola. The Public Trustee’s office will remit the monthly interest to Walpola.
