Unhappy over behaviour : SLMM wants LTTE Batticaloa man replaced

by Rashomi Silva

The Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) has requested the LTTE head office in Kilinochchi to replace its Batticaloa Peace committee LTTE representative S. Sinnaiah with immediate effect, Hakrup Haukland Deputy chief of the SLMM told the Daily News yesterday.

"We have informed the LTTE Kilinochchi head office to replace the member with immediate effect," Haukland said.

The behaviour of Sinnaiah did not display the expected neutrality, he added. "We are not satisfied with his behaviour. We are very displeased over the manner he handled the issue of the LTTE member who took cyanide," he said.

According to Batticaloa Police sources, the LTTE member who had taken cyanide was admitted to the hospital, through the SLMM. On his recovery Sinnaiah had mediated to hand over the member back to the LTTE.
