Disciplinary inquiry on Chandana

National player Upul Chandana has been summoned by the Disciplinary Committee of the BCCSL to be present at an inquiry over the statement submitted by Silvester Dias, match referee on an incident that had taken place during the Premier Division Super League Cricket fixture between CCC and Tamil Union at P. Sara Stadium on 12th January, 2003.

The letter summoning Chandana sent by Director, Cricket Operations, Bandula Warnapura also states that he is "suspended from participating in any tournament by the BCCSL pending the conclusion of the inquiry. The suspension is effective from yesterday.

The inquiry has been fixed for the 22nd January, 2003 at 4.00 p.m. at the BCCSL headquarters.

Two umpires Gamini Silva and N. P. K. Gunawardena, match referee Silvester Dias and Indika Kalagoda, Captain of the Tamil Union C & AC has also been requested to be present at the inquiry. (BCCSL press release).
