by Peradeniya special correspondent Author, Denis Bond will visit Kandy from January 22 to 23. Denis Bond from UK, an author of over sixty children's books was originally trained for the theatre at the Rose Bruford College, London. He then worked as an actor on stage and television before spending some years as a teacher. Denis gave up teaching when he was commissioned to write twenty six episodes for a children's T.V. series. The series Pipkim was a success and ran for five years. This was followed by three different but successful series; Rainbow, The Munch Bunch and Let's Pretend. Denis's picture books for younger readers, are extremely popular as are his novels for ages 10+. Denis now splits his time between acting, writing and author visits to schools. He is constantly in demand for his action packed author visits and writers, workshops in schools and libraries throughout the UK and abroad. Denis Bond will conduct a workshop at the E.L. Senanayake Children's Library, Kandy on Wednesday 22nd from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. for children 11 to 12 years and from 5.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. for children 8 to 10 years on Thursday 23rd from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. for children 5 to 7 years and from 5.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. for children 13 to 15 years.
