Pakistan says joint U.S. naval games next month ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Pakistan and the United States will hold joint naval exercises next month, official media reported on Tuesday. Pakistan is a key ally in the U.S.-led "war on terror" and the two countries held joint military exercises in October, the first since Washington suspended military ties with Islamabad in 1998 in retaliation for Pakistan's first nuclear weapons' tests. "Both the navies had undertaken joint exercises a few months back and now again these would be repeated shortly," the official APP news agency quoted Rear Admiral Iftikhar Rado, a senior official in the Pakistani Navy, as saying. He said the dates and other details of the exercise were being worked out. |
