Lion Brewery registered a thrilling eight run win over Hemas in their Lion Open indoor cricket tournament division two match played at the Austasia Sports Complex in Thalawatugoda.

A well contributed 27 from Chaminda Bowathura helped Lion Brewery to reach 56 runs from their 16 overs. Sridar Ramachandran took the bowling honours for Hemas capturing four wickets for minus nine runs.

Hemas made a good run chase in their attempt to overtake their opponents total but fell short by eight runs at the end. Meanwhile Lanka Yalta Cubs outclassed PCC Lanka by 52 runs to register their second win in the tournament. Lanka Yalta Cubs batting first made a challenging total of 88 runs from their 16 overs with Aruna hitting a top score of 25. PCC Lanka in reply managed only 36 runs from their 16 overs with only skipper Zafran and Chanaka entering double figures. (C.D).
