Peradeniya University overall champions

University of Peradeniya with 231 points became overall champions at the Inter-University Championship 2002 organised by the University Sports Association and worked off at different venues during the year 2002.

University of Colombo with 206 points finished runner-up while University of Moratuwa with 157 points clinched the third spot.

The Men's Championship went to University of Peradeniya with 154 points while University of Moratuwa finished runner-up with 130 points.

The Women's title was won by University of Colombo with 94 points and University of Peradeniya ended runners-up with 77 points.

For the undergrads from the Peradeniya University, this was their fourth successive overall championship title win as they have won this title in 1999, 2000 and 2001 as well which may be a record for this championship organised by the Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association (SLUSA).

Universities of Colombo, Peradeniya, Moratuwa, Kelaniya, Ruhunu, Sri Jayewardenapura, Jaffna, Sabaragamuwa, Rajarata, Eastern, South Eastern and Wayamba participated in this championship which covered 18 sports for men and 11 sports for women.
