US, Lanka joint military exercise The US Embassy in Colombo announced yesterday that US and Sri Lankan military forces are conducting a joint training exercise in Sri Lanka. Named "Balance Style," the exercise began in January and will continue through early March 2003. "Balance Style" is the ninth consecutive joint training exercise between the two military forces, and has become a tradition between the US and Sri Lanka. It seeks to foster relationships between the two countries that promote regional stability, a media release from the US Embassy stated. During these annual exercises the nations' forces train together - and learn from each other. |
