'Amendments to WTO Valuation Agreement' A seminar on Amendments to the WTO Valuation Agreement presented by the Import Section of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in association with the Sri Lanka Customs will be held on Friday, January 24 from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in the ground floor auditorium of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. This is an ideal opportunity for importers to familiarise themselves with the new amendments to the WTO Valuation Agreement and its implications. Among those who are billed to address this seminar are: Suraj Fernando, Chairman, Import Section of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, S A C S W Jayathilake, Director General of Customs and Vice Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Rizwi Zaheed will be the moderator. The following are the presentations that will be made. Introduction to WTO Valuation Agreement by Dr. N. Gunawardena, Director of Customs (ADP) and Chairman, Valuation Task Force, Principles of WTO Valuation by M. Ravindrakumar, Superintendent of Customs (ADP) and Member of the Valuation Task Force. Amendments to the Customs Ordinance by M. R. Rajmohan, Superintendent of Customs (Bonds) and Member of the Valuation Task Force. The seminar will provide an opportunity for importers to gain insights into important new dimensions of the WTO Valuation Agreement that have arisen with the recent amendments and engage in an interactive dialogue with decision makers and officials involved in implementation. |
