Call to probe LTTE's cremation claim

Parents of missing servicemen have called on the Government to inquire into a claim by the LTTE that it was forced to carry out mass cremations of soldiers' bodies who perished in action due to the refusal of the then Government to accept the bodies.LTTE's chief negotiator Anton Balasingham, in a revelation which stunned the nation, claimed that the former Government's refusal to accept bodies of fallen combatants left his movement with no alternative but to burn the remains. Double boost for Samurdhi this year
