The Foreign Ministry said that Norwegian Ambassador Jon Westborg was expected to continue his term of office for a further period due to his involvement in the peace process. "The attention of the Ministry has been drawn to news reports, which indicated that the Norwegian Ambassador in Colombo Jon Westborg was prematurely ending his term of office in Sri Lanka," it said. The Ministry wishes to state that the Ambassador was due to end his tenure at the end of January, this year. However, in response to a request for the continuation of his term of office for a further period due to his involvement in the peace process, Ambassador Jon Westborg is expected to continue until around April, the Foreign Ministry said in a release. |
