CIMA goes to Matara The CIMA Sri Lanka Division in association with the Matara Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently launched the CIMA Information Desk in Matara. The CIMA Desk in Matara would now disseminate information regarding CIMA and will accept completed registration forms new CIMA students in Matara. Sudarashan Senaratne, President of CIMA Sri Lanka Division said: "We are very pleased to be in Matara. A large number of students come from Matara and those who have completed CIMA are now holding very senior positions in the private and the public sector." CIMA is an alternate route to higher education and it is represented in 156 countries and its examinations are held throughout the world. The CIMA course of study encompasses many areas of business and management related fields. Therefore our graduates can easily fit into many roles in an organisation namely marketing, general management, production, Information Technology and even Human Resources Management. The CIMA qualification is also recognised by other qualifications such as the Masters Degree programs, as an entry to higher education. These attributes have given our students the advantage of ready employability". Senaratne thanked the Matara Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the encouragement and support shown towards establishing this Information Desk. H.D. Wijayanandana, President of the Matara Chamber of Commerce and Industry thanked CIMA for setting up an Information Desk. He said that it would be very useful to many school-leavers in Matara and he stressed the importance of gaining a professional qualification such as CIMA as it will help the development of business in Matara. |
