He was speaking at a SLFP reorganisation meeting held at Beliatta electorate on Sunday and said " therefore the people's power should be properly harnessed in order to strengthen the hands of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga. He observed that wielding Constitutional power without people's power to back it could lead to a public uproar. In such a scenario the party supporters including himself would have to flee the country. |
