CIMA awards to recognise students' achievements CIMA has introduced two new step awards to recognise students' achievements as they successfully progress through the different levels of the qualification, on their path to becoming qualified Chartered Management Accountants. 'We continually strive to meet current and future business needs with the aim of increasing the employability of our members and students', said Sudarshan Senaratne, President, CIMA Sri Lanka Division. These new awards will formally recognise students' achievements and skills upon completion of the Foundation and Intermediate level examinations. The CIMA syllabus offers a dynamic mix of practical and strategic subjects designed to provide the cutting edge in financial management. Studying for and passing CIMA examinations means improving a student's career development prospects all the time. From May 2002, students who successfully complete the Foundation level examinations will automatically be awarded the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, and students who complete the Intermediate level examinations will be awarded the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting. Any student who is eligible for either the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting or the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting will automatically receive a certificate in August/September 2002. The new qualifications are the first in a range of products from CIMA rewarding students on their pathway to full membership, enabling finance professionals to climb the career ladder step, gaining recognition at each stage of attainment. |
