by Kandy staff correspondent A man admitted to the General Hospital Kandy with a history of being attacked with clubs by young men, died after four-and-half months in hospital. The attack on H.M. Rishard, 27, of kandy is reported to have taken place at Mahiyawa on August 4 while he was returning home after watching a rugger match in Kandy. Kandy Acting Magistrate Kithsiri Seniviratne viewed the body at the hospital mortuary and ordered the JMO Kandy to conduct the post-mortem examination. Dr. A.B. Seniviratne, JMO Kandy held the post-mortem and ruled that death was due to brain damage and pneumonia. Meanwhile, nine young men of Pooranawatte, wanted by police in connection with the death surrendered before Kandy Magistrate D.L.M. Seniviratne on Tuesday. Kandy police arrested another young man of Pooranawatte in this connection and produced him with a 'B' report before the Kandy Magistrate on Wednesday. The Magistrate put off inquiry for January 13 and remanded the suspects till the inquiry date. SI R.A.P. Dharmaratne, OIC, Kandy Crimes with the assistance of sergeant A.B.
