Health strike suspended

The Joint Council of Professions Supplementary to Medicine (JCPSM) yesterday decided to suspend their strike after extensive discussions with the Cabinet Sub Committee which was appointed to look into their problems.

Normal services will be restored at all hospitals from today, a spokesman for the JCPSM said.

He said the JCPSM expects fair solutions to their problems from the Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by Minister Karu Jayasuriya. The other members are P. Dayaratne, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, Vajira Abeywardena and Alick Aluvihare.
