The United National Party (UNP) will holds its 48th national convention at the Sugathadasa Stadium today under the patronage of party leader Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

"An everlasting peace to the Motherland " is the theme of the convention which will commence at 9.00 am. "The UNP is expected to adopt four special resolutions at today's convention," UNP media spokesman Gayantha Karunatilleka said. He also said the Prime Minister will elaborate on the current peace process to the people and also give a comprehensive description about the future economic development plans in his speech.
