Employment and Labour Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe will be the chief guest at the ceremony organised by the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE).

"The objective of this annual programme initiated several years ago is to help needy children of migrant workers in recognition of their service," SLBFE Chairman, Susantha Fernando said.

"We have never forgotten these workers who bring foreign exchange to our country annually. Therefore it is our duty to help the children of these workers," the Minister said.

A total of 1500 children studying from Grade One to Five will receive equipment worth Rs. 1500 each, while those in the GCE (O/L) and (A/L) classes will receive equipment worth Rs. 2000 at tomorrow's ceremony.
