U Beware of forged tickets, say organisers

by Tharika Goonathilake

UB 40 fans hoping to attend today's mega peace concert at the R. Premadasa International Stadium have been cautioned against purchasing tickets outside the designated outlets due to fears of forged tickets circulating in the market.

"We have received information that forged tickets are being circulated in the Colpetty area and have informed the police to take necessary action," an organising committee member told the Daily News yesterday. He said that there are in-built security measures in the tickets and a through check will be conducted at all entry points to the Stadium.

"There is a great demand for last minute tickets but fans have to be weary of racketeers who waiting to cash in on the demand. Stick to the authorised outlets selling tickets," the committee member said.

"Over 7,000 kilos of sound and light equipment including another 1000 light equipment from india was brought down especially for the show. We are guaranteeing great entertainment given UB's repertoire and contributions by top local artists to make the peace concert a grand finale to a memorable year," he said. Lokuhetty said that he was confident that the ``show will be the biggest of its kind in the country, So U B there !".
