Danzas - 'Best Air Freight Forwarder' in Asia

Danzas named "Best Air Freight Forwarder" in Asia's Logistics Awards Danzas Group, the logistics arm of Deutsche Post World Net, was named "Best Air Freight Forwarder'' at the inaugural Asia Logistics Awards ceremony on November 28 in Hong Kong. More than 300 representatives of the global logistics and shipping industry were present.

The award aims to set benchmarks for service excellence and innovation in the practice of logistics in Asia. Danzas is proud to be leading the way in this inaugural event. Among the finalists in the category of "Best Air Freight Forwarder" were Danzas, BAX Global and Exel.

The award was based on votes cast by readers of leading supply chain management publication Lloyd's Freight Transport Buyer Asia, published by Lloyd's List, as well as the Asia-based readers of Containerisation International, and International Freighting Weekly.

Readers comprised senior decision makers including shippers and logistics professionals from across Asia were asked to recognise the companies offering the best services to them and to the Asia market as a whole.

Speaking of the award, Head of Danzas AEI Intercontinental Asia-Pacific, Thomas Nieszner, said: "I am honoured and proud that Danzas has been accorded the recognition by the readers of these respected publications, which are for us, first and foremost, our customers."

"Asia has already become the world's manufacturing hub, and for many global companies the battle for supply chain supremacy will either be won or lost here in Asia. With this award it is clear that we are helping our customers come out on top. I attribute this success to all our employees who have placed our customers as their first priorities," said Mr. Nieszner.

The number one air freight provider worldwide, according to IATA rankings, Danzas is also a leader in ocean freight. In Asia-Pacific, Danzas also tops the rankings for air freight in at least five Asian markets including Australia, China, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Malaysia.

DHL Scoops Awards in Operations, Employee Innovation and Brand Advertising DHL won 3 awards at the Asia Logistics Awards and the Singapore Advertising Hall of Fame Awards recently. On one night, in two cities, DHL was named 'Express Operator of the Year', won a prize for 'People Development' and won the International Print Campaign of the Year award for their '3 Red Lines Brand' campaign.

DHL received the 'Express Operator of the Year Award' at the Asia Logistics Awards ceremony, for the reliability of their extensive network throughout the Asia Pacific region. DHL was commended for its unique understanding of the local markets in the region, affirming their leadership position in the air express and logistics services in Asia. Operators were also assessed on their delivery guarantees and their customer service, for which DHL's superior product and service quality have been noted as outstanding. DHL also walked away with an award for 'People Development', at the Asia Logistics Awards ceremony.

For this award category, voters were asked to assess how companies encouraged young people to get involved in the logistics and supply chain management industries. DHL was singled out as having adopted a singular policy of recruiting, training and promoting young people through various programmes that encouraged young people to come forward for a career in their industry. DHL's dedication to internal staff through its recruitment, training and reward schemes has set the standard for the industry and the company continues to be the most innovative in the industry.

Commenting on the Awards, John Mullen, Chief Operating Officer Asia Pacific said " DHL is delighted with the recognition we have received from our industry peers and associates. These awards reflect the high standards and innovation, which we believe, characterize our business and set us apart from our competition in the Asia Pacific region. I applaud those DHL employees who have worked hard over the past year to help the company achieve such high standards."

In Singapore on the same night, DHL received the highly coveted advertising accolade for 'International Print Campaign of the Year Award', for its '3 Red Lines Brand' campaign at the annual Singapore Advertising Hall of Fame Awards.

DHL was chosen for the Award by a panel of 32 judges drawn from marketing, media, advertising agencies and academia from around the region.The number of entries for this year's advertising awards increased by 40%, to a total of 1080 exhibits.

Commenting on the Award from the Singapore Advertising Hall of Fame, Charles Chan, General Manager, DHL International (Singapore) Pte Ltd, also said, "The campaign was carefully planned by the Singapore office to integrate our new global branding into the local operations. The use of the three red lines brings to life our commitment to being a business that moves businesses.

We believe we have captured the essence of what we do for our customers today especially in this ever changing business environment. It is a strong reaffirmation of what we started to pioneer in Singapore 30 years ago."

DHL has established a long-term reputation for some of the most innovative and strategic advertising campaigns in Asia., These included the "Jumbo Box and Jumbo Junior" campaigns which were roaring successes and created a new milestone for the industry. 'Subsequently, the 'First' campaign led to the production of the China First' advertisements, which hallmarked the company as the first express delivery service in China.
