Dilantha placed second in Australian rally Dilantha Malagamuwa has become the first Sri Lankan motorist to secure a second place in an international motor rally. This he achieved when he drove in New South Wales, Panorama's Berthust 24 hour international rally. He represented Rollsent Racing team of Britain. His second place in the rally also helped his team win the second place in the overall team standings. The fist place who won by Monro racing. The rally attracted 36 drivers, which covered a distance of 3181 kilometres. Dilantha is the only Sri Lankan to hold an international formula racing licence. His other team members were Martin Shate, Charles Lamb and Mark Pashley all from Britain. He was sponsored for this event by Jagath Ramanayake, a Sri Lankan Businessman in Japan. |
