Police probe Kandy bomb attack by Sarath Samaranayake and Indika Polkotuwa Kandy police is investigating Tuesday's bomb attack on the house of a well-known businessman at Peradeniya Road, Kandy. Businessman A. M. Marikkar is said to be a close associate of Sri Lanka Muslim Congress leader Minister Rauff Hakeem. The front compound of the house had minor damages as the bomb had first struck a tree before getting deflected. Marikkar had been away during the attack, according to the complaint lodged at the Kandy Police by his watcher. No arrests have been made. A police team led by Chief Inspector Edmund Mahendra, HQI Kandy Police is investigating, directed by DIG, Central Province Nimal Mediwaka. |
