Mass support vital for country's progress - MP

by Thihagoda group correspondent

The United National Front Government headed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is endeavouring to address the problems in the country. The fullest support and whole-hearted co-operation of all irrespective of petty differences would be indispensable to achieve successful results in these difficult tasks said Laksman Yapa Abeywardana MP Matara district.

He was speaking at a sramadana campaign held at Kitalagama to repair and reconstruct the dilapidated Pangnadassi Mawatha from Welletota to Naimbala in the Thihagoda Pradeshiya Sabha area, recently.

He said this administration is capable of restructuring the ruined economy in the country. Careful planning and meticulous implementation of development programmes would be vital to bring the country into prosperity. What the people expect from us are expeditious solutions to their burning problems. Every effort would be made to find a negotiated settlement to problems in the North and East by this regime.

The MP said for economic development in the country a permanent end to the war in North and East is essential.

A. T. Hemarathna Pradeshiya Sabha member, Thihagoda also spoke.
