Sam Fareed

Spectrum Training Center (Pvt) Ltd, a BOI approved IT training company recently signed up with WinNet Systems Inc of Canada to offer a twinning program on Cisco training covering CCNA and CCNP in Colombo with CCIE completion in Canada.

The Toronto based WinNET Systems Inc. set up in 1998 has helped produce Canada's share of CCIEs and it is still growing. In 2002 WinNet produced eight out of 11 CCIE's of Canada.

Cisco Systems - empowerer of the internet generation is the goal setter of most IT students today. Cisco com's easy access to its up-to-date record of experts worldwide, the certification rewards and the potential 6 digit income are all highlights that are chasing many behind the dream of becoming a CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Engineer), a company press release said.

To become a CCIE, one must first become a CCNA (Cisco certified Network Associate) by taking the fundamental CCNA course followed by 4 CCNP modules and become a Cisco certified Network Professional. The average starting salary for a CCNA is $ 40,000 and a CCNP designation increases it to $ 60,000. There are approximately 400,000 CCNAs and 125,000 CCNPs in the world; however the number of CCIEs are only 8,000 worldwide and 2,000 in Canada, the release said.

A highly indepth level of knowledge, (speedy) hands on experience and excellent troubleshooting skills are all pre-requisites to becoming a CCIE.

It takes a highly motivated, dedicated and ambitious student to become a CCIE. We have students who come here from good technical positions who have good working knowledge or great hands-on experience but lack a balance between the two," it said. "Once a student is registered at WinNet they have unlimited access to the in-class lab which also includes Lab Assistants.

More advanced courses offer remote access to their lab, which is convenient and practical," Sam Fareed, President of WinNet Systems Inc. said.

Spectrum Training Center (Pvt) Ltd, a company that introduced some of the high end technologies such as Bioinformatics, Bluetooth Technologies and Embedded Controls to the Sri Lanka has ensured to offer cutting edge technology training at an affordable fee structure, the release added.
