Fitch Ratings acquires TFIS-UK Fitch Ratings, the international rating agency said that it has acquired the international business of Thomson Financial Insurance Solutions ("TFIS"). Paul Taylor, Fitch Group Managing Director of Europe said that "The acquisition raises Fitch's insurance information coverage to more than 5,800 insurance entities in more than 100 countries. Through this expansion of its services, Fitch reaffirms its commitment to respond to the growing demands from investors, banks, insurers, reinsurers and brokers for data, information and rating opinions on insurance entities worldwide. This presents a timely opportunity to utilise the experience of our banking and insurance database groups to enhance and extend Fitch's existing products". The unique products, with the most indepth insurance financial data available on a worldwide basis, included in the acquisition are the leading electronic data service, "Broker Portfolio", providing financial and operating information on insurance and reinsurance brokers participating in the Lloyd's insurance market and the "Portfolio" service, widely used by insurance security committees, which provides access to client specific subsets of the insurance company database with customised analytical tools and support. As part of the transaction, Fitch has also acquired "Limelight", a Lloyd's Syndicate Results information product. Jointly produced with Lloyd's of London, Limelight is based on a unique database of annual Lloyd's syndicate data providing an invaluable source for the analysis of the performance of the Lloyd's market. |
