Rare achievement by Prasanna

Prasanna Ranasinghe, a 33 year old businessman, residing at Nawala in Kotte Town has won the first place on 30 occasions at motor car races. In July. Ranasinghe won first place in the three day race which started from S. de S. Jayasinghe Mawatha, Dehiwela.

After reaching Rakwana covering 230 miles on the first day, he came to Hambantota covering another 230 miles on the second day. On the third day he set off from Hambantota and finished the meet at Jayasinghe Mawatha, Dehiwala covering 200 miles and won the first place of the 1000 kilometre contest. After that he won the first place at Gajaba Super Cross race conducted by the Gajaba Regiment, Anuradhapura.

Ranasinghe who was educated at Isipathana College is a champion motorist who has brought honour to the country.

Representing Caltex Racing Team he won several events in the motor racing meets held at Anuradhapura, Diyatalawa and Katukurunda.
