Those swhose electrical appliances are damaged due to improper release of high-tension power by the LECO, are requested to lodge a complaint at the Police, by the Minister of Public Administration, Management and Reforms, Vajira Abeywardane at the Hikkaduwa Divisional Co-ordinating Committee meeting last Monday. They are expected to obtain copies of those complaints and direct them to the minister so that he can forward those copies to the parliament committee and enable them to claim compensations from LECO. This decision was announced following a complaint made to him on relevant damages by the UC Chairman, Gaminie Pinnaduwa. The Minister also directed the Hikkaduwa Assistant Director of Plan Implementation, Mangalika Kaludewa to submit to him a list of bridges that are in need of repair in the area. The Minister said that if LECO interrupts the power supply for a short time, they are duty bound to supply power without much delay. |
