JSA appeals to CJ

The Judicial Service Association of Sri Lanka, an association of primary court judges has appealed to Chief Justice, Sarath N. Silva to grace the occasion of its 60th Annual Conference and Dinner and also to release the necessary funds in this connection.

The Association says it has already made a part payment of the conference as an advance from the association funds to the BMICH. Held under the theme Independence of the Judiciary-Independence of the Judges, the conference will be attended by judges of the original courts comprising all district judges and magistrates of the country numbering around 175 members.

"We expect that Your Lordship would grace the annual conference and also release the necessary funds as the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the World Bank Fund for developing legal skills in Sri Lanka", the Association says in a letter addressed to the CJ.
