ACE Luggage Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., exporter of Olympia and other brands of travel-ware to USA was recently awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:2000 accreditation from the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI). They became the First Sri Lankan ISO 9001:2000 certified luggage manufacturer from SLSI, the only member body in Sri Lanka for ISO.

The company was incorporated in July, 1999 as a BOI Project at the Dankotuwa Export Processing Zone. Capital Investment of the Project was over Rs. 100 million. The parent company is Ms Luggage America Inc. S. in California, which has been in the business for the past 25 years.

ACE Luggage has a fully equipped factory complex and stores complex at the Dankotuwa Export Processing Zone. One hundred percent of fabrics and models of handle system are imported.

"We have the State-of-the art quality luggage manufacturing techniques and this is a significant milestone for us in our quality field," Vice President Thomas Lee explained.

SLSI Director General/CEO C.D.R.A. Jayawardena said "New ISO 9001:2000 Certification is a good foundation to build Quality Culture and Continual Improvement within a company. This certification certainly helps companies like ACE Luggage, which caters exclusively to the American Market."

The Company is 100 percent owned by Chris Yu who is in the USA. Their main market is USA and the company's monthly production capacity is US $ 1,000,000.00. Seventy percent of the American rolling back pack Luggage Market is occupied by the "Olympia" brand which is totally imported from ACE Luggage Lanka.

The policy of ACE is to have well-qualified and competent staff in office as well as in production. Therefore the management has always taken steps to train them in their respective fields.

ACE Luggage has an experienced management team and fully qualified professionals who have held senior management positions in Sri Lanka as well as abroad in various categories, bear testimony to the company's standard of professionalism.

The Directors of the Company are Thomas Lee (Vice President), Kim (Director) and David Koo (Production Director).
