Probe into attack on JMO

Crime branch of Kandy Police is investigating into the alleged assault on the Kandy Hospital JMO by a security officer on duty at the hospital on Saturday.

Crime Branch SI Ranjith Sirisena and SI Nimal Chandrasiri are investigating the incident under the instructions of Kandy Police HQI Edmund Mahendra.

The JMO was assaulted in the hospital premises when he came to assume duties and the accused under Police custody had told the Police that he couldn't identify the JMO, but Police deny it as the accused has been serving there for more than three months.
