2,000 complaints from public, says LTTE political wing by Jaffna special correspondent The LTTE political wing of Jaffna district has received over 2,000 complaints from the people from April 15 to November 13. This is an indication that the people are dissatisfied with the civil administration in the Jaffna peninsula. They want undelayed justice and deterrent punishment against law breakers, said C. Illamparuthy, Leader LTTE Political Wing Jaffna district. Addressing the press at LTTE Political Wing office, Kokuvil, Illamparuthy said when the Jaffna peninsula was under LTTE control, the people are getting prompt justice to their complaints. Now it is not so, he said. He said: "We are not running a parallel government. But we want the people to live with security to their life and property, it is for the realisation of this ideal we had been making supreme sacrifices". Illamparuthy categorised the complaints as follows. Land disputes 420, house and property 310, business disputes 195, love affairs dowry and divorce 362, thefts and robberies 174, monetary transaction 221, intimidation and disgracing in public 120. He alleged that some are keen in disrupting the civil life of the people. He said they were returning the two sovereigns they got from the people. This is being done by drawing of lots, Illamparuthy said. |
