by Sarath Malalasekera The Police who is conducting investigations into the killing of Samantha Vithanage, a third year Management student of the Sri Jayawardhanapura University, assisted by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) yesterday deployed several special teams to arrest seven more suspects who are wanted in connection with the killing. All seven suspects wanted are undergraduates, the investigators said. The police have arrested 24 suspects in connection with the killing of undergraduate Samantha and remanded them pending the completion of the identification parade to be held before the Gangodavila Magistrate on November 21. Earlier, one of the suspects arrested in the case Deshan Ajantha Kumara, a third year Management student has submitted to Police that he is the Secretary of the JVP-backed Inter-University Students Federation (IUSF). |
