CSE on Aitken Spence share transactions' issue

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) said yesterday that its chairman, A.D. Gunewardena has informed the CSE that he has not been notified by any authority of any misdemeanour on his part regarding the Aitken Spence share transactions issue. The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) has confirmed in writing to Gunewardene that the SEC at no stage informed him of any investigation concerning the sales concerned, a CSE release said.

"Gunewardene has said that in these circumstances he could not have been and in fact has not been asked for an explanation whatsoever regarding such sales," it said.
