COLOMBO, Tuesday (AFP) At least one crew member was killed and another missing following an explosion aboard a South Korean container vessel near Sri Lanka, a rescue coordinating centre here said Tuesday. The Hanjin Pennsylvania sought assistance to evacuate a crew member injured in the powerful explosion inside one of its cargo holds on Monday, the Colombo Radio ship-to-shore radio communication centre said. The cause of the blast was not immediately known. Colombo Radio said its communications with other ships in the area indicated that 19 crewmen had been rescued from the ship by the MV. Wehr Altona and were being taken to Singapore. One more crewman was reported missing.
