Budget Estimates 2003 : Ministry of Industries Key functions: Implementation of policies, plans and programs in respect of industries Promotion and development of industries in accordance with industrial policy Industrialisation Co-ordination with Ministries of Regional Development Mission: To foster and facilitate the growth of the industrial sector by creating a conducive investment environment to reap the maximum potential of the industries and to ensure that the products are globally competitive leading to enhance the living standards of the people in the country. According to the Government's budget estimate report, estimate recurrent expenditure of the Ministry has reduced to Rs. 25.25 million from Rs. 25.56 million and capital expenditure to Rs. 35.7 million from Rs. 100.7 million. The total expenditure of the Ministry, according to estimates will be Rs. 60.95 million, a reduction from Rs. 126.26 million. |
