The University Grants Commission has released its latest statistical publication "Sri Lanka University Statistics 2002". This is the 3rd volume of its series. This volume of 96 pages contains 22 statistical tables and 17 charts covering the latest information on Institutional structures, strength and financing status of university institutions, educational indicators, university admissions, student enrolment, graduate output, human resources and expenditure of the university sector in Sri Lanka. In this publication an attempt has been made to provide statistics for retrospective years too, in order to understand the historical trend of data. For the first time a CD containing the electronic version of this publication will also be released simultaneously with the release of this publication. Since the publication presents a wide range of education related data of current interest, in summary form, it will be useful not only for the university management but also for the policy markers, researchers, students and the general public, says a press release of the UGC. The publication is priced for Rs. 250.00 for local sale and US $ 10 for foreign sale and the CD is Rs. 300.00 for local sale and US $ 15 for foreign sale. Both the printed and electronic (CD) versions are available for sale at the library of the University Grants Commission, No. 20, Ward Place, Colombo 07, it said. |
