Renowned Buddhist scholar Bhikkhu Bodhi, President of the Buddhist Publication Society (BPS) will be in Sri Lanka on a short visit later this month. He is now resident in the United States of America, his home country. During his stay, he will deliver three Dhamma talks - two at the BPS, Kandy and the other at the Narada Centre Colombo. The first talk will be at BPS, Kandy on Friday, November 22 at 5 p.m. and the second at the Narada Centre on Sunday, November 24 at 6 p.m. The last talk will be given at the BPS, Kandy on Friday, November 29 at 5 p.m. During his visit, he will open the new building which has been constructed at the headquarters of the BPS, Kandy. The opening ceremony has been arranged for Friday, November 15. It will be followed by Pirith chanting in the evening and a Sanghika Dana the following day. Bhikkhu Bodhi will spend most of his time at the Forest Hermitage, Kandy where well-wishers will be able to meet him. He will spend three days in Colombo from November 22-25 at the Narada Centre. He will make use of the opportunity to inspect the Colombo bookshop opened recently. He will also hold discussions with the Board of Management there and the staff of the BPS on the future programme of work to be undertaken by the Society in planning its publications which have a wide readership worldwide. |
