CIMA Info Desk in Jaffna

The CIMA Sri Lanka Division recently launched the CIMA Information Desk in Jaffna in association with the Jaffna College.

The CIMA Desk in Jaffna will disseminate information on CIMA and will accept completed registration forms from new CIMA students in Jaffna.

Upali Ratnayake, Executive Director Business Management of CIMA Sri Lanka Division said that we are very pleased to be in Jaffna. In the early 80s' CIMA was very popular in Jaffna and those who completed CIMA are now holding very senior positions in the private and the public sector.

CIMA is an alternative route to higher education and it is represented in 135 countries and its examinations are held throughout the world. The CIMA course of study encompasses many areas of business and management related fields. Therefore our graduates can easily fit into many roles in an organisation namely marketing, general management, production, Information Technology, and even Human Resources management.

The CIMA qualification is also recognised by other qualifications such as the Masters Degree programs, as an entry to higher education. These attributes have given our students the advantage of ready employability," he said.

Ratnayake commended the Jaffna College for the encouragement and support shown towards establishing the Information Desk.

Noel Vimalendran, Principal, Jaffna College also thanked CIMA for setting up an Information Desk. He said that it would be very useful to many school-leavers and he stressed the importance of gaining a professional qualification such as CIMA, and added that CIMA classes will commence shortly at the Jaffna College.
