New CEO at Colombo Land The Colombo Land and Develoment Co. Ltd. (CLDC) has appointed Zulficar Ghouse as Chief Executive Officer of the Group. CLDC, which comprises the subsidiaries Liberty Holdings, People's Park Complex Pettah, Urban Developers (Pvt) Ltd. and Agrispice (Pvt) Ltd., is a public quoted company and the first joint venture in property development between the state (UDA) and the private sector. A Chartered Accountant by profession, Ghouse has extensive experience in private sector organisation locally and overseas. His previous appointments were as Managing Director of iOM Lanka (Pvt) Limited and as General Manager of iOM Philippines Inc., subsidiaries of Royal Clicks Limited, a company quoted on the Singapore Stock Exchange. He also served as Group Financial Controller of the Expolanka Group of Companies. A professional of wide interests he served as a founder committee member of the Philippines-Sri Lanka Business Council and was a founder member of the IT faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He has also served as a member of the Strategic Management and Accounting Faculty and the Public Lectures Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He has also delivered lectures on Balanced Score Card at the Postgraduate Institute of Management Sri Jayawardenepura and the Chartered Institute of Management at the IT faculty of the University of Colombo. Ghouse looks forward to his challenging new post and believes that staying ahead of competition is no easy task and is one that requires strategic planning, effective implementation and scrupulous attention to detail. As a pioneer of the shopping mall concept he intends to take CLDC to new heights of achievement and success. |
