HSBC overall winner at Suntel Bowling C'ship The fourth tournament of the preliminary round of the Suntel Bowling tournament was held on September 25 at the Y2K Bowling Centre, Millennium Park, Colombo 10. It was an excellent evening of excitement, apprehension and joy as nine companies in the banking sector fiercely competed with one another to win the premier round. The companies, which competed, were NDB Bank, CITI Bank NA, Deutsche Bank, Union Bank, Commercial Bank, HSBC, Nations Trust Bank, Seylan Bank, and Pan Asia Bank. All the teams consisted of five males and a one female and this balance made it even more competitive. There were six companies, which qualified for the final round of the competition, and it indeed proved to be close fight. However the winner seemed quite obvious from the start as HSBC emerged as the overall winner with an overwhelming total score of 1,857, highest in the whole series. Commercial Bank was second place with a total score of 1,654. However all the participants were rewarded for their enthusiastic participation. The star of the night was Anura from Nations Trust Bank with a total score of 332 on both rounds. Suntel Bowling Championship is an exclusive bowling tournament for Suntel Corporate customers and this is scheduled to take place in five phases. The four preliminary rounds spread across the year of which all have been completed now. The final tournament is scheduled for December 2 where the winners and the runners-up of the preliminary rounds will compete for the grand Suntel trophy. |
