Maldivian cagers in Sri Lanka

A twelve-member squad of Senior National Basketballers from the Maldives led by Ibrahim Nahid and three officials left for Sri Lanka two days ago to play some friendly Matches against Sri Lanka preparing for the second SAARC Basketball Championship in Bangladesh in January 2003.

The Maldivian Cagers are scheduled to play against the Sri Lankan Police Team who were runners-up at the National Basketball Tournament this year in Nuwara Eliya. The Maldivian team will also play against the Army and the Air Force in Nuwara Eliya. They will also have a few more matches in Colombo before their departure to Maldives.
