MoU to strengthen Lanka-Bangladesh trade relations

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) was signed in the presence of Minister of Industries of Bangladesh M.K. Anwar and the Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka, Ashud Ahamed.


Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).

The Chairman of the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries, Ranjith Hettiarachchi signed on behalf of the CNCI and the President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Al Haroon signed on behalf of the FBCCI.

Under this Memorandum of Understanding, the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) will enhance the liaison and co-operation between respective organisations in the field of export, import, investment, business information and other commerce oriented activities for the benefit of the members of both organisations.

The MoU also enables the parties to co-operate in the promotion and exchange of information and views on the expansion of trade and industrial relations between the CNCI and the FBCCI.

The CNCI and the FBCCI would also recommend to their respective commercial authorities all such measures, as in the opinion of the respective parties that would be helpful to increase trade and economic co-operation between their respective countries.

Both countries will also help each other in holding trade exhibitions and fairs for the promotion of products between the two organisations.The CNCI and the FBCCI would promote and actively encourage dual Trade and Industrial relations between the two organisations.

The two parties will also exchange trade and market information and disseminate to the members of the two organisations information on the goods and services available.

With the signing of the MoU business relations between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have been further strengthened.
