by Sarath Malalasekera Customs at the Katunayake International Airport yesterday seized eight boxes of foreign cigarettes valued over Rs. 2.5 million in an air cargo. The consignment of cigarettes had come from Dubai. The Customs investigations revealed that the names and the addresses on the consignment were fictitious. Customs Officers Pushpa H. Liyanage and M.M.M. Rishaffy and Assistant Superintendent Hasanga Hapugaskumbura conducted the Customs investigations directed by Narcotics and Baggage Deputy Director Customs S. Ramachnadran. After completion of the investigations, the Customs confiscated the cigarettes. |
